As far as development goes, she continues to be very LONG and LEAN and I can't wait to see her weight/height stats at our next check up. She generally wears her size clothing... so seeing how she's 8 months, she's either in the 6-9 month clothes, or 9-12 month. Anything bigger and they just fall right off her (even if they fit in length). She has been sleeping through the night (praise the LORD) for a few months, but for some reason for the past week she has started waking up around 3:30 bright eyed and ready to play. The same goes for daytime naps, which have been on-again off-again with her. To combat this problem at night we've been applying the "Ferber" method (i.e. crying it out) and it has worked so far.
Let's see, what else? At 8 months, Elizabeth...
-Walks holding on to furniture
-Stands alone for a few seconds, but doesn't like to do so
-Shows fear of the vacuum or when daddy has shaving cream on his face
-Shakes her head "no" when she doesn't want any more milk/food
-On occasion she will nod her head "yes" and say "yeah" when she does want milk/food
-Climbs over/under/through things (yesterday she somehow climbed into a box!)
-Understands what we say (like when I ask her to show me an animal in a book, she will identify the correct animal by slapping it or touching it... or when I ask her where something is she will look at it or crawl to it)
-Says Dada to Dada
-Attempts many other sounds/words but in a language all her own
-Continues to love people and kids, and waving at them (although her wave is often backwards now)
-And her favorite things to do continue to be reading with Mommy, taking walks in the stroller with Daddy, and bath time with her rubber duckies
Life at 8 months is LOTS of fun! We are SO blessed!
