Milestones by the Minute

As Vassil left for work today, he jokingly asked Elizabeth, "What new milestone will you reach today that I will miss?" It seems these days Elizabeth really does do something new each day. First there came the realization that her fist makes a great sucking device. That came a few weeks ago. A day or so later came the discovery of her hand... she began to really stare at it, and you could tell she was wondering what it could do (she still spends time staring at her hand). Then of course the other day came the laughing out loud, which she hasn't done again since, but it was still really amazing. Then yesterday she started to really try to grab at the dangling toys that hang above her on her activity mat. That coordinated right hand (well, much more coordinated) slowly reaches at her desired target. And although she is yet to actually grab something, this was a huge milestone from the previously spastic arm movements that lacked control or coordination. Again, this all took place yesterday, but has improved so much in that short time. Now today, beginning this morning on her changing table, continuing in her carseat on her way to class, and then later after class while playing with mommy... Elizabeth has started to cluck/click her tongue. I can't quite describe it, but it is sort of a suck of her lips and a click of her tongue... and is almost sounds like she is smacking some bubble gum. I'm not sure if this is because I often click/cluck my tongue at her while cooing, or if it comes from her watching mommy chew a lot of gum (I love me some gum!) But at any rate, it is the cutest thing on earth. When daddy comes home, Elizabeth will have once again reached something new. This leaves me wondering, what new milestone will be in store tomorrow?! Can't wait to find out!
