Time is flying, and I wanted to post a quick update of my two little monkeys.

If you haven't guessed from the photo, Liam continues to be a VERY happy, easy baby! He loves to smile and talk to us... and we are even starting to get little bits of vocalized laughter as well! The only time Liam is upset is when he has gas, or when he gets put down--he loves to be held! Strangely enough, he seems to prefer being held facing outward... which I'd nearly forgotten was exactly how Elizabeth preferred to be held as baby as well.

When he gets really upset, he pouts out his bottom lip... and it is simply adorable (video to come soon)! But really the only time he gets upset is when he's put down, or has gas, or occasionally after a bath. Otherwise, he's a pretty content little man.

Liam LOVES his paci... but has yet to figure out how to keep it in his mouth--mama is working REAL hard to get him to figure that one out--lol! Occasionally, a fist or thumb will make it into his mouth and he will suck away. I'm guessing once he has better control of his limbs, he will be a thumb sucker... just like his daddy was! Of course, I'm kinda hoping I'm wrong about that one. We've tried a few bottles, but he's having a hard time with those, too. Sleep is the same -- up around 3:30 then 6:00... not bad.

Elizabeth continues to be a great big Sis... only one or two times have we seen jealousy... mostly she adores her brother! With that said, the terrible two's are definitely upon us! We have yet to go a full day without a timeout... most days, it's multiple timeouts. What more can I say? Lord, help us.

Despite the daily meltdowns, Elizabeth never fails to melt my heart and make me ever so proud to be called her mother. She's started repeating some of my expressions, like "Oh my goodness gracious..." or "Oh me oh my!" And she insists on carrying a purse with her everywhere we go. She talks and talks and talks all day and often to strangers... but it has to be on her terms. If she's not sure of you, she'll pretend to be asleep in hopes that you'll go away... and if you don't she'll start to cry.

She's been sleeping longer these days, and when she finally wakes up she refuses to get out of her crib, telling me that she wants to sleep a little bit more and to leave and shut the door.. through the monitor she' just playing away, and it often takes over an hour to coax her out!

Lately, she's also been cracking me up when she hollers to find out where we are or what we are doing... said w/an almost NY accent (think Joey Tribbiani from 'Friends') saying, "Mommy, Where are you? Whatch-you doin' Mommy?" I also LOVE how she says words like "woman" (vuh-vum), along with "guinea-pig" (penny-pig), and "croccodile" (crocadager). Then of course are the truly funny things she says, such as (while I'm nursing Liam): "Elizabeth no have boobies yet... Elizabeth just have moles" (she will kill me one day for posting that one!) OR, Yet another funny (said while staring disapprovingly at the chicken on her fork, which I'd made for dinner) "This smells too, TOO bad!" OR, the other day, after searching for her stuffed Mickey Mouse "Where did Mickey Go? Oh... he went home to Florida." But the funniest has to be watching her "shop" at the grocery store with her own little cart... she picks up the most random items and adds the to the cart... and it's just precious "Ohhhhhh! Cuuuuuuute!" She'll say in a high-pitched voiced, and then plop a box of spaghetti into her basket. It's hilarious.
As you can see... life with two monkeys is not always easy (heck, it gets quite exhausting), but at the same time, it sure is lots of fun!
