Pumpkin Patch

Well, today (according to all weather reports) looks to be THE last day of good weather before the cold sets in! As a result, we decided to soak in the last bit of summer with a trip to a local pumpkin patch as a family! The patch is pretty close to our house. They specialize in strawberries... you can pick um right off the vine in the summertime! But in the fall, they also have a nice sized pumpkin crop. The neatest part is that they operate on the honor system. Rare these days!
This was Liam's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch. How stinkin' adorable is he in his little Old Navy overalls and his first pair of Timberland boots?
Really, he is just the cutest thing! Elizabeth enjoyed running up and down the rows of pumpkins... looking for just the right one!

This one was too heavy!
This one was juuuuust right! Um, can you say "giddy"?!
Family shot. This was the best we could do! Hard to get all four of us all looking, smiling, and in focus... sigh.
Here's Elizabeth showing her little brother a baby pumpkin! She loves to play show-and-tell with her brother... always telling him about something! So cute!I love the sights and sounds and smells and tastes of fall! Don't you? The baby pumpkins in the barrels are just so lovely!
As is the beautiful Indian corn!
Here's Liam... soaking it all in! I just love this pic... dontcha just want to reach through the computer to smooch those cheeks!
Our cute little punkin' getting a big smooch from daddy!
My two favorite guys! Aren't they handsome?!
Liam and mommy! I promise Liam's overalls DID fit... they just didn't want to stay down!
My kiddos! What fun! Some of my fondest childhood memories are of trips to the pumpkin patch! It is so much fun to watch your own children experience things that they might one day come to cherish as well! SO much fun!
All in all, it was a nice little afternoon outing. Of course, any good trip to the pumpkin patch wouldn't be complete without a few tears. If you look really closely in this one you'll see Elizabeth's pouty face! I think 'only' one tantrum was had at the patch. And here's Buster's pouty face, as well! I swear, when this boy gets really upset, it just melts me! He has the cutest pout!
With that... it was time to pack up and head home! The best part is we have a playdate scheduled next week at a different pumpkin patch with some cute little punkins from church! It will be fun (albeit, probably very cold)... and we can't wait!!! More fall pics to come!
