We had a fabulous time in Washington DC this past week. We stayed with Vassil's parents in Gaithersburg, and toured Mt. Vernon & the Washington Mall with my family. Elizabeth enjoyed seeing both sides of grandparents, along with her two young aunts--one who's just finishing college, the other just finishing elementary school.
Mt. Vernon was really beautiful, and grandpa Clay, who has just about every historical fact (especially about George Washington) memorized, was in heaven! The DC area was also fun to visit, but the warm weather was a bit much for Elizabeth, who was not only hot but also tired.
All in all it was a great vacation. Elizabeth is still enjoying time with her Nana and Aunt Maddie, as they drove home to visit with us, and will be going with us on a nice trip to the beach this weekend.
