Happy Halloween

For Halloween this year, we met our neighbors, Laurey, Rich, and their 11 month old Princess-Fairy Katherine at the "Village" near our house (thanks for the pic, guys!). And then we were back in our neighborhood for a little bit of trick-or-treating.

The "Village" near our house is SO beautiful, especially this time of year. The old farm house has been transformed into a gorgeous B&B, the old Barn into a phenomenal reception hall, then there are shops, trails, ponds, gardens, and then lots of homes.... it is spectacular. In the open pastures there are belted cows and goats. Sometimes we drive over to the village to take our nightly walk, since it is so close to where we live, plus so beautiful. And every time we go, we always let Elizabeth see the cows and goats. Its funny, because she's gotten so used to going there, that sometimes we will ask if she wants to go for a walk (not even intending to go to the village), and she starts Moooo-ing. Which, if you guessed, was inspiration for her costume this year.

Anyway, each year, the village holds a Pumpkin Walk on Halloween, which consists of all these extremely intricately carved pumpkins on display all over the village. Elizabeth was, once again, in heaven! There were all kinds of other little ones in costume, and she went up to each one, greeting them with several "Hi's" before she was off to another new face. She also said Hi to the goats, only it came out something like "Hi Yogi!" Katherine, the fairy princess, was so adorable and it was fun to parade around the square and in our neighborhood with our two little cuties! Neither of whom had any concept of trick-or-treating (Elizabeth actually taking candy out of her bag and giving it to the person answering the door). But it was lots of fun, and can't wait until next year!
