Well, we did it!!
I'm referring to two things, actually.
For starters, yesterday we moved in to our new home. We still have some small things left to get today, but all of the big things are here and last night was the first night we slept in our new house. Things were a little hectic because we were anxiously awaiting the cable guy to come connect us around 3 pm. When he didn't show, Vassil called 3 times to confirm that he was coming. Each time he called, they reassured us that he was on his way. Long story short and five hours later we still had no cable. This sent us both into total panic mode. Not because we are THAT addicted to TV... but because this meant we weren't going to get to watch the KU/UNC game... well, at least, not via TV.
That brings me to my second point... Last night KU whooped up on the Tarheels and our former coach Roy Williams, beating them to smithereens with a final score of 84-66. If you've read my previous post then you know that a victory in the tournament over UNC is not just victory, but sweet revenge to boot... revenge at LAST!!!
And I'm actually glad it took us 5 years to beat Roy because now we can say it was TRULY Bill Self's team... not left overs from Roy! It was OUR team, the team that Self recruited and coached, and we beat Carolina fair and square, and we beat them BAD!!!! Wooo-Hooo! Man, I love Bill Self, and finally he can step out of Roy's shadow and be seen as the PHENOMENAL coach that he is!!!
Oh... and if you are wondering how we watched the game with no cable... after putting Elizabeth down to sleep, we huddled in the dark, amid mounds of unopened boxes, over our 12" laptop watching the game on about a 4x5 screen. The picture was tiny, and every once in a while it would freeze up, but it was all we needed to see that Kansas was victorious over the supposed #1 team in the country!!!
I will never forget our first night in our new home!
