It's hard to believe it, but Elizabeth is 6 months old! I know this is cliche, but it really feels like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital, and now here she is half way through her first year of life!
While sitting in a Bojangles over the weekend, this revelation hit me. My little baby is growing up! And soon she will no longer be a little baby! Aye! The pain of that is almost too much to bear! I turned to her right there in the restaurant and asked her if she would promise to stay a baby, my baby, forever... but she just laughed.
At the same time, Elizabeth's growth and development fills me with such pride and joy! She is really a little person now and can do so much! The other day we went to the children's museum with some other babies and mommies, and this time she actually played. In fact, she
even stole toys from other babies! And during Mother Goose story-time at the library, she practically jumped out of my lap in excitement... watching the older babies and paying very close attention to the teacher leading the songs and stories!Yes, this stage is definitely one I savor!

Here's a quick update regarding life at 6 months old:
+Height: "about" 27 inches
+Weight: Heavy! TBD at our next Well Baby (coming soon!)
+Teeth: Two now! Both on the bottom, but neither are all the way through.
Other Interesting Tidbits:
+"The Look" -- Elizabeth has been giving us what we call "The Look" for the past few weeks. It is hard to describe (and impossible to
catch on camera), but basically she puts her chin to her chest, cocks her head slightly, lifts one eyebrow, and looks up at you with a very serious expression. It actually reminds me of the look "the Rock" used to give, if any of you are wrestling fans... funny when he did it, but even funnier coming from a six month old!!!+"Milk" -- Elizabeth has just started signing the word "milk." So far she only does it when she sees a bottle coming for her or when she is drinking her bottle, and not to actually alert me that she wants milk... hopefully that will come soon, followed by the five other ASL signs her mommy "tries" to reinforce throughout the day (eat, drink, more, all done, and change)!
+"Sleep" -- Do I dare type these words... Elizabeth has been sleeping through the night!!! But now that I've typed these words on this blog, I'm certain she will go back to waking up a dozen times. If you are reading this, please knock on wood!!!! OH... and she now sleeps quite peacefully on her tummy, with her knees curled up under her... very Anne Geddes!! Somehow, though, each morning I awake to find a leg or arm dangling (and stuck) between the bars of the crib... looks uncomfortable, but so far, she doesn't seem to mind.
+"Crawling" -- Just yesterday Elizabeth started getting up on her knees and rocking on all fours. When she reaches to move forward, she usually ends up back on her tummy... but it won't be long!!!

As you can see, life at six months is a lot of fun! Let's hope the next six months of life are just as good, if not even better!
