More Easter Pix

Easter with our sweet baby girl was lots of fun this year, which should be evident from the adorable photos!

For starters, the Easter Bunny brought Elizabeth a new blanket and baby chick-rattle. Along with that came gifts from mommy, Nana, and great-grandma Lois. What was really neat was that without realizing it my mom, grandma, and I all bought Elizabeth the same exact stuffed animal, which sings "Jesus Loves Me," except Nana bought a pink lamb, and mommy and grandma bought a pink bunny. Do we think alike or what?!

As far as Easter outfits goes, Elizabeth had far too many to choose from, thanks to the continued spoil-packages that are sent from all of you. Last Sunday she wore the adorable polka-dotted outfit (thanks Nana) which received many, many compliments from all the old ladies at church, and today (Easter Sunday), I put her back in the green daisy outfit from her 6 month portraits. As you can see, we tried getting some pictures of Elizabeth in the grass, but the grass was just so interesting and fun to play with, we didn't get many of her looking at anything except, well, the grass.

Church service today was nice, not only because it was Easter Sunday and the pastor was back from a trip to Israel, but also because the McDermott family (and Elizabeth's buddy Caleb) joined us. With two babies under the age of 1, we sat in the back, and mommies and babies ended up in the "cry room" for most of the service, as Elizabeth loves to "sing" during prayer and sermon time. Caleb was as quiet as a mouse, but seemed much happier to crawl around on the floor with Elizabeth.

Grandma Lois (who is probably still washing dishes from the feast she has no doubt prepared for the family back home) will probably kill me for this... but lunch afterward was spent with the McDermotts at Chile's.

Additionally special was the fact that yesterday (a day before Easter), Elizabeth started crawling!!!! For the past few weeks (since she was six months old) she's been trying... she learned to rock on all fours, pivot, crawl backwards, and go from a crawling to seated position... but yesterday was the first time she really, really started crawling. It was such a joy and brought me to tears. We would place her down on one end of the carpet, and remove all distracting toys from her path, and then place a high-interest object (such as the cell phone, our keys, the video camera, etc) at the other end. In just a few seconds flat she was able to crawl to her desired target! We played this game for practically an hour, and were ecstatic each time... Elizabeth on the other hand didn't seem to understand what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, yesterday was also the first time we used our playpen ;) I'm guessing you can figure out why. And since yesterday, her crawling has evolved to include the "downward dog" yoga pose. But because she lacks balance, this means she usually ends up falling on her face - ouch! The funny thing is that this is usually what ends up happening when mommy tries the same pose!

At any rate, hope everyone had a nice Easter! We miss you all and wish we could "show her off" in person, rather than through this blog! But I suppose the blog is better than nothing... I can't imagine what we'd do without technology?!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!!
